God’s Ministering Spirits

“Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” Hebrews 1:14

One of my favorite verses is listed above – Hebrews 1:14. The lyrics to Anne Herring’s “Easter Song ” can be equally uplifting – “the angels, they all surround us, and they are ministering Jesus’ power. Quickly now, reach out and receive it, for this could be your glorious hour!”

Corrie Ten Boom, a World War II concentration camp survivor, shares a story in her book, The Hiding Place , about a speaking engagement she had after the war had ended. Unbeknownst to her, one of her former prison guards was in the audience, and was inspired by her message to accept Christ as his Savior.

Corrie writes, “His hand was thrust out to shake mine…. I struggle to raise my hand. I could not …. I breathed a silent prayer, ‘Jesus I cannot forgive him. Give me Your forgiveness.’ As I took his hand the most incredible thing happened. From my shoulder along my arm and through my hand a current seemed to pass from me to him, while into my heart sprang a love for this stranger that almost overwhelmed me.” Corrie knew the power of God’s ministering power in that moment!

To be used powerfully by God can become an addiction, but it also requires complete obedience. I urge you to continue to be faithful in allowing God to minister through you. As Proverbs 11:25 states, “he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” Just think -- this could be your glorious hour!
