October 2012 Newsletter

October, 2012

Dear Friends of Ramah,

I trust this message finds you well, filled with great hope for the future God has in store for each of our lives. While I realize these are trying days for our families and nation, God is still on His throne, watching over us. We know this from Isaiah 40: 10-11: See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power, and he rules with a mighty arm. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him. He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.

This newsletter is designed to update you on Ramah’s work, which God has greatly blessed. I also want to encourage your hope in the Lord in whatever circumstance this letter finds you. God’s plans are greater than we can imagine so do not be dismayed. He hears your prayers and knows your specific need. Continue to search for Him while He may be found and know that you are in our prayers.

God’s hand on the work of Ramah International over the last 15 years has been clearly evident. During the last five years we have physically lost friends and loved ones, experienced devastating years of economic ruin where our Earthly possessions and properties vanished as a result of a man-made catastrophe (Deep Water Horizon Oil Spill). That led to an Exodus of sorts in moving our family 1,200 miles to begin again. Each step on this road has been overwhelming but God has walked with us continuously, providing the peace that passes all understanding. In the ongoing storms of any believer’s life, our only hope is in God. Trust in Him.

In the midst of our personal exodus in 2011, Ramah’s work was also impacted by the current economic conditions in the United States. As a non-profit that serves ministry programs, Ramah is in a precarious financial situation today. Regardless, through God’s grace, Ramah has endured the storms of our lives and is still being used by God to reach thousands each and every day.

In 2012 we trained over 300 people in both abortion recovery and abortion-vulnerable ministry efforts through our seminar series. Countless abortion-vulnerable callers reached out for help and we were blessed to receive both baby pictures and cards from some, detailing the wonderful care they received as a result of our referral. Post-abortive individuals have found hope and peace through direct contact and through referrals, materials and resources. While financial compensation was never required or given in these situations, God has used Ramah in such astounding ways. Let me be more specific.

Tens of thousands visit Ramah’s web site each month, searching for information on abortion, recovery from abortion as well as information to assist wounded loved ones. By reading the search terms that leads visitors to our site, we understand that nearly 80% of our site’s traffic are abortion-vulnerable individuals. God is saving lives through Ramah International every single day and many results are simply unknown until we arrive in Heaven.

In addition to physically training over 300 this year, Ramah’s web site (ramahinternational.org) offers the only on-line FREE educational tool on numerous abortion recovery ministry topics. Currently our “Video” and “Audio” libraries offer sixty one (61) training topics comprising over ninety (90) hours of education, covering subjects for new and veteran leaders alike. International visitors, who may have no access to training in their nations, view these libraries to begin/enhance their efforts to help the unborn along with many U.S. based groups. As an example, below is a link to one presentation entitled,“Family Business: Coping with Hometown Prophet Syndrome.” Supplemental written materials on this topic are available as well.

Family Business: Coping with Hometown Prophet Syndrome

All on-line lectures are offered at no cost! Our agenda is simply to encourage ministry efforts as much as possible without financial compensation being required.

Ramah’s web-site pages, “For Abortion Recovery Leaders Only,” are filled with information that leaders can download and use for free, along with materials that will encourage each aspect of their ministry efforts. We also offer 24 booklet titles that cover nearly every topic in abortion ministry efforts! Ramah’s recovery guide program and devotional for use with my book, Her Choice to Heal, continues to minister to thousands of hearts each and every day around the world. We now have versions in Russian and Spanish! No other abortion recovery organization has the depth of training resources than are available, at no cost, like Ramah International. That was God’s good plan.

At this point, our board understands that God is our Provider. We have worked diligently to allow the Holy Spirit to move on the hearts He’s led to support our work. Perhaps you are one that has benefited from Ramah’s ministry? Or you could be one that is searching for peace after your past choice(s). I do not know why you asked to be on our e-mail list but I am grateful for your prayers and interest in our work.

Like many ministries in America today, we are facing some difficult decisions for the future. Since our inception God has asked us operate on the least amount of funding possible as He multiplied our ministry impact. 2011 revenue was blessed by a matching grant, allowing us to have revenues just under $60,000. In 2012 we have received @$40,000 and have many general office bills yet to pay. Ramah has been blessed with two monthly donors – one family and one church – that covers our Internet and phone bills each month. With tens of thousands of visitors, a free on-line training school as well as being available for consultation, Ramah’s work certainly has impacted our world with God’s hope of healing. We could truly use your support today.

Regardless of the income, we know the Lord has His hand on our ministry. Today He has allowed me to ask you for assistance. Would you not only pray for our efforts but also consider a tax-deductible financial donation? Please understand that I’m not asking for personal support. We have served Ramah as unpaid volunteers for these last few years and realize there is plenty of outside work to cover our family’s expenses. Yet each “outside job” prevents us from doing more through Ramah and weakens our ability to support wounded hearts. Ramah needs an infusion of love and support, financial and otherwise, from those who have been touched by our work and want to see it continue and grow. If Ramah has assisted or blessed you in any manner, we would appreciate your direct encouragement as well as prayers. To provide a donation, click Donate to Ramah or send to our offices at 2707 E. Woodcliff Road, Fayetteville, AR 72701.

In closing, Romans 15:31-33 outlines my heart on this request - Pray that I may be kept safe from the unbelievers in Judea and that the contribution I take to Jerusalem may be favorably received by the Lord’s people there, so that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed. The God of peace be with you all. Amen.

May God’s love surround you with peace during this Fall season and encourage your heart. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance to you at Sydna@aol.com. In the meantime, you will remain in our prayers. We will update you on how the Lord has provided for Ramah’s on-going financial needs in December!

Sincerely,
Sydna A Masse

Here is a list of current recommendations for Ramah International’s
President and Founder, Sydna Masse:

Chris Schlesiger
Director of Advocate Resources, AAA Center for Pregnancy Counseling Omaha, NE

“I have known and worked with Sydna Masse in the area of both Pregnancy Center Ministry as well as Post Abortion Counsel for over 20 years. She is a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, with a passion for faithfulness to His Word. Our Center has used the Post Abortion Bible Study Sydna created since it first came out and have had the privilege of leading hundreds of post-aborted women to healing through this study. She has a true gifting of tenderly ministering to those hurting from past choices and speaking truth in love. A blessing to both those needing ministry and those ministering to them.” June 11, 2012

Margaret Keck
Executive Director, First Call Pregnancy Center, Greensboro, GA

“Sydna has provided my organization with our website design and maintenance. We have had excellent results with contacts and the design is advanced and appealing. Sydna has also served as a consultant in helping us with her expertise in serving our clients and helping us to be prepared to train and serve as well. I would highly recommend Sydna Masse.” June 11, 2012

Kristen (Coleman) Cox, MBA
N. America Channel Manager, Accugraph Corporation

“Throughout the nearly 20 years I've known her, Sydna has been a rock, a beacon, a friend, a mentor, and a sister. She has steadied me in rough waters, guided me in times of despair, and been there for me with just the right words - whether words of comfort or words of reproach - any time I've reached out to her. I've watched Sydna endure life's storms that would rattle the faith of even a strong Christian, with the fortitude and perseverance we're called to have but hope to never have tested. By exposing the deep, dark secret of her abortion experience she stole its power from the enemy and has allowed it to be used for God's glory in countless lives. She can reach abortion-minded women, post-abortive women, and others affected by abortion with her gentle, truthful, non-judgmental spirit. Her words are always guided by and laced with scriptural truths. That Sydna is an exceptional author is no surprise. Of course God would gift her that way! I'm blessed to know her and her beautiful family, and to call her a sister.” June 10, 2012

Denise Bailey
Executive Director, Women’s Pregnancy Center, Peoria, IL

“Sydna has been an invaluable resource for the Women's Pregnancy Center. When she learned that I was a new director at our center, she made herself available to discuss various questions and to assist in my learning about post-abortive issues. She also conducted an excellent training in March 2012 for our staff, volunteers, and staff from other centers in Illinois. Her high level of care and concern for others shines through as she speaks, and it is evident in her approach to sensitive issues. It is obvious that Sydna is committed to serving God first, and allowing Him to use her to bring hope and healing to others. I would highly recommend her in any capacity!!” June 11, 2012

Becky Eminger
Director, Lakeshore Pregnancy Center of Grand Haven, MI

“Sydna has compassion, insight, and passion for life-affirming ministry, especially for those who need post-abortion healing. She is a God-fearing example. Her workshop for my colleagues was excellent!” June 11, 2012

Carrie Gordon Earll
Sr. Director, Public Policy, Focus on the Family, Colorado Springs, CO

“Sydna Masse is a visionary leader with the ability to also see the systems and details needed to make the vision a reality. Her strong moral and ethical principles provide a solid foundation for building programs and organizations. Her commitment to ministering to people drives her success in creating opportunities to serve those in need. She also brings exceptional communication skills - both writing and speaking.” June 9, 2012

Wendy Beutel
Abortion Recovery Director,

“Sydna's ministry, Ramah International, is the most extensive and comprehensive Abortion Recovery Resource I have found anywhere. It is the site I think of first when someone asks me for more information about the emotional aftereffects of abortion. Our center has used Sydna's 'Her Choice to Heal' curriculum for 2 years now, and find it's healing process very thorough as well as solidly Christ-based. Sydna herself has also been a wonderful resource for us, always willing to help and encourage us as we built our ministry. The training she provided for us was professionally done and full of helpful information - a bargain for the price. Bless you, Sydna!” June 9, 2012

Don Chinnici
Owner and CEO, New York Connection, Inc., Sarasota, FL

“Although the time I spent in that field, and worked with Sydna was brief, she quickly went deep. Sydna cares about the work, and cares about your circumstance. No lip-serve or hypocrisy here; never. I traveled a couple hours to meet her, as she had come "East" on a speaking tour. But we had already become fast friends. We had already shared some very honest conversations, on both parts. And it was clear that Sydna was in our corner. You will not find someone more honest, more dedicated, and more passionate about the work. Feel free to contact me directly if you need further gushing.” June 10, 2012

Mike Yorkey Author/Writer, Former Editor of Focus on the Family magazine, Focus on the Family

“Sydna is a mature, charismatic leader with wonderful vision, but she is also detail-oriented. She knows and understands the pro-life world as few do and is a world-class talent in that area. She's an amazing, talented leader and person.” June 9, 2012

Stan Kellner
Executive Director, Sanctity of Life Ministries, Alexandria, VA

“It is my privilege to endorse Sydna Masse. Our friendship and ministry partnership date back to the mid-1990's when we worked in the same division at Focus on the Family. She was just getting a new work off the ground through which she was building a network of support for those in the life issues arena, particularly toward those who work in pregnancy help centers and those who experienced abortion personally. Sydna exemplifies a heart of compassion, kindness, truth and love toward those who live with the "after impact" of abortion. She has also been used widely in the body of Christ to encourage others as well as to set a standard of excellence and effectiveness in the very challenging world of life issues. While I have always been pro-life since my new birth in 1973, Sydna was used by God to inspire me and motivate me. Since then I have either been very supportive of pro-life work or have served (as I do now) in executive leadership in a pro-life ministry. Thanks, Sydna, for being an example to me and a consistent encouragement to those who labor in this very tough but rewarding arena. Stan Kellner CEO, Sanctity of Life Ministries Fairfax, VA” June 9, 2012

Paula Grimsley
CEO, Lady Care

“Sydna is a committed woman of God, committed to see women free and serving Him in grace and love. She is a well-spoken writer, encourager and friend. Always willing to reach out to those whom she meets in many venues but she is always full of His love and passion.” June 13, 2012

Douglas Connelly
Senior Pastor, Parkside Community Church, Michigan

“Sydna is a courageous and talented leader and would bring energy and creativity to any position of leadership.” June 13, 2012

Gary Foster
Owner, Gary D Foster Consulting

“Sydna is a "can-do" "go-to" person. She always completed her assignments on time and in a professional manner. Her passion for excellence and serving others is something one cannot command or buy, but Sydna chooses to give it to those whom she serves.” June 14, 2012

Jan Murphy
CEO, Choices, Inc., Philadelphia, PA

“Sydna has been instrumental in my growth in understanding the mindset of women in the decision-making stage of pregnancy as well as the aftermath of abortion. She is knowledgeable in her field and is a very caring Christian which lends an interesting experience to her work. I met Sydna 17 years ago and have worked with her during several Workshops and Conferences over the years. However, I came to know her personally as she became a mentor to me while I was dealing with tough cases in my ministry to incarcerated women. Sydna even accompanied me to one of my classes and the inmates were excited to meet the author of the books we were using. Sydna is responsible, capable, encouraging and understanding and does not hesitate to go above and beyond to help someone. She continues to inspire me as I see her growth in her Christian walk. No matter how hard it is, she is obedient to the Lord whether or not she sees the 'Big Picture'. I know I can count on her both as a mentor and as a friend, which unfortunately, is a rare find these days.” June 12, 2012

Jerry Thacker, A.B.D.
Consultant/Coach/Strategist/Digital-Jedi, Right Ideas Inc.

“Sydna has a heart of compassion toward those who are hurting that extends to the way she deals with people every day. She is dedicated, competent, and professional in all her dealings and others oriented. She is an ideal example of the Servant Leader!” June 18, 2012

David Hoard

“Sydna and I have known each other for many years, and I can say that her dedication and enthusiasm for her work is as always an inspiration. I have also had the opportunity to collaborate with her special projects, and can attest to her energy and drive for whatever work she does. She brings to the table a keen analytical mindset, emphasizing the human aspect in all her work, while bringing to projects a creative energy that perseveres beyond obstacles and delivers results.” June 19, 2012

Cinny Roy

“Sydna Masse is a leader, author, trainer and mentor, impacting the landscape for women and families in the United States and abroad. Ms. Masse's professional experience whether before a conference audience or an intimate confidential conversation speaks to the breath of her dedication for the past twenty years. She champions truth regarding the impact of pregnancy loss due to abortion. She is a professional peer whose counsel I consider balanced and timely.” June 21, 2012

James R. Garringer
Director of Media Relations; University Editor, Taylor University, Upland, IN

“To whom it may concern: Sydna Masse is a warm, effervescent person who has incredible gifts in communications, writing, and speaking. Sydna is a brave woman - having survived the physical and emotional trauma of an abortion - and uses her experience to speak into the lives of thousands of women who have had similar experiences. Sydna's honesty and forthrightness are enhanced by her winsome, kind and non-confrontational manner. She has an ability to connect with people and make them feel comfortable as they tell their stories and as she shares hers. People feel safe speaking to her and she has been used as an instrument of healing and reconciliation for untold numbers of women. It was my privilege to interview Sydna last year for a feature story that was published in our Taylor University alumni magazine. Sydna was warm and transparent during the process as she related the pain of her personal experiences and what she has learned as a result. Sydna models the concepts of grace, humility and tenderheartedness. It is my pleasure to heartily recommend Sydna Masse. She is an amazing person. Gratefully, James R. I highly recommend Sydna, especially if you are just starting.” June 21, 2012

Russell Amerling

“Jill and I have been involved in the Choose Life license plate effort in America for over 15 years. We have known Sydna for most of them. Her work at Ramah International compliments exactly what the message on the plate is all about "Choose Life." Her testimony and heart of love and giving draws the hurting to her. Her message is always that no matter what life has brought you, God is there and He will heal and forgive when we come to Him with a contrite heart. I thank God for allowing us to meet and pray for Sydna as she continues to show His love to all she meets.” June 19, 2012
